Games in the evening: Freiburg and Paderborn may hope - internationally playing
The Cabinet realized on Wednesday with a change of the sports facility noise protection ordinance that about an internationally playing Bundesliga club no longer has to justify the "peculiarity of the event" to bypass the "curfew". The Federal Council must or agree to this decision.
Sports clubs can thus take the exception of the regular noise values on up to 18 calendar days in the future. This includes international games on weekdays or later games on the weekend and means: Sport events may be carried out at these up to 18 days if they are louder than the noise protection.
A profiteer of this change would be about the SC Freiburg, who is in his new stadium, which is located at the nearby district of Mooswald, so far on daily rest periods from 20 to 22 o'clock - but not up to 18 days now. "The clarification of the regulation creates legal certainty. This is of great importance not only for the SC Freiburg, but for many sports facilities in Germany," said Freiburg's board Oliver Leki.
Also second division Sc Paderborn - only a few hundred meters behind the stadium lies a residential area - could in the future still stop his games after 22.00. Since this season, a second ligament game per match day usually takes place on Saturday night.
