CALL OF DUTY BLACK OPS COLD WAR : FUN, MAIS PERFECTIBLE - CYM PRESS

Released November 13, 2020 Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War settles as a fun FPS that can not make us forget Modern Warfare.

We impatiently expected this new opus of the Call of Duty Franchise since the alpha and beta version. We put the hand on it and we played 3 days almost non-stop to try everything before writing this test.

A little innovative campaign

In recent years now, we know that the solo mode of the call of duty is not the first argument of sale of activism. Here, developers on the Treyarch side proposes a short campaign (to change). We play Bell, an agent recruited by Adler (a species of Harrison Ford Balafre). Our mission ? Preventing a new war and all the usual blah blah on long corridor background where enemies come out such cardboard characters in a shooting stand. Besides, we are entitled to very nice infiltration sequences that gives Cold War a certain stamp, but not enough to whip a spenetnaz.

Nevertheless, there is a bit of change. The solo adventure gives us the opportunity to choose the psychological profile of our character. Depending on the features we choose, our story will be different. These choices will have an impact (minimal) on our exchanges with our brothers of arms or enemies. Question of character if you see what I mean. It's slim, but refreshing. So this addition comes to graft the new dialogue system that allows you to choose our answers or questions to influence the rest of the game. Yes, yes, it's a bit like'The Wiccher_, but far from The Wiccher.

The choices remain simple and often, they have no real importance on the course of history. However, the campaign offers several purposes that you will be discovered. In addition, Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War offers puzzles to solve. Do not pack too much because there are only two in fact, yes. They are not so complicated as it especially if we are used to Zeldas and others. Finally, in less than 10 hours if we go, we finish the solo, unless we want to enjoy the graphics that have not changed too much since Modern Warfare.

Call of Duty Cold War saved by multiplayer

Well, we will have understood without hiding that this Call of Duty Cold War is especially there such a big update of Mordern Warfare's multiplayer mode. We are entitled to new skins, new maps, new weapons of the 70s-80s and of course new game modes.

it's not more beautiful than Modern Warfare

Graphically speaking, there are no big differences between Cold War and Modern Warfare. Maps are beautiful especially the atmosphere of Miami. We still deplore some satellite display bugs where panels of levels disappear and appear at the beginning of the game, but it will be solved quickly. Here is the list of maps:

  • Checkmate - A 6V6 card in a training center in Berlin East.
  • Garrison - A 6V6 card in Hanover, East Germany.
  • Miami - A 6V6 night card located in a neon-lit Miami.
  • Cartel - A 6V6 and 12V12 card that supports both MP and Combined Arms in a South American cartel base.
  • Crossroads - A large iced card designed for 12V12 combined weapons but will also support a different 6V6 version.
  • Armada - A 12V12 Combined Arms card that takes place on several large ships at sea.
  • Moscow - A 6V6 card in a Moscow of the Soviet era. This is the polar opposite of Colorful Miami. It was one of my favorites of the beta version.
  • Satellite - Located in a beautiful desert, this user-friendly card for elite shooters supports 6V6 modes.
  • Alpine - Another frosty card is one of the Fireteam cards. This means up to 40 team players of 4.
  • Ruka - A second Fireteam card located in the highly wooded mountains of the URSS.

Later in the month, we will have a 1984 version of Nuketown! We look forward !! Then do not panic.

with or without headphones

Sound side, with a helmet, it's just delirium. Each weapon at its own sound, the reverberation of sound depending on where you are bluffing. You have to play with a helmet to understand, besides, we advise you all the time. Step noises, reloading, etc. It's excellent at this level.

a lot of content

At the level of game modes, we have the classics match to death, confirmation, domination, etc. playable at 6 compared with 6. The real news This year, these are the combined weapons, VIP and Fireteam modes. The last is played a bit like Warzone. There are 40 players divided into 10 teams. The goal is to explode a maximum of bombs in the allotted time. VIP is a escort mission where the goal is to bring your VIP alive at the extraction point. Finally, combined weapons offers a giant domination mode with 6 points to capture and assault. The purpose of assault as during the bet is to capture a strategic point. In doing so, we win a boost of catches for the next point and so on.

Zombies are back

Zombie mode is there and offers a lot of new content. It always remains so fun and defending. The Zombie Onslaught co-op mode that puts us in a moving orb on the map and the waves of death should be repelled will arrive in November 2021 on the other consoles.

Finally, not forgetting that Cold War is Cross-Gen so no matter what console on which we play, we can join his friends and make parts all night.

So this Cold War?

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War is a good game. It is not excellent especially from the soil point of view, but it goes well multiplayer side. There is content, but many things remain perfectible. The countryside is far too short and frankly not so interesting than that. As for Multi, we love because it is fun and nervous, but some weapons are too powerful. MP5, M16, XM4 and Krig are ravaging. By then, we will be entitled to nerve to rebalance things.

But should it be procured? Yes !
