Guerrilla Games Share More Details about Horizon Forbidden West
A couple of weeks ago, Guerrilla Games shared new information from Horizon Forbidden West, where there was a little more about the combat and the exploration skills of Ally. Now, today has been the turn of the robotic beasts that inhabit this world of being the center of attention.
In a publication at the PlayStation Blog, Blake Polite ski, main designer of machines, and Maxim Fleury, asset art leader, revealed that Horizon Forbidden West will have an extensive robot catalog, where we find some already known, and some completely Original, such as Tremor tusk, creature inspired by mammoths.
The sequel will have artificial intelligence for these expanded robotic animals. Guerrilla Games talks about a more natural behavior, where we will find creatures that act more attached to their actual counterparts. Next to this, there is talk about actions that can guide the player to discover secrets. This was what Blake said about:
We knew we wanted a flying machine a little bigger than the Glint hawk, which resulted in the sunning, but needed a place and a role in the world. We studied several flying reptiles and primitive birds in search of inspiration, and we came up with the concept that its wings harvested solar energy during the sunny weather. This, in turn, created an interesting game dynamic: Sun wings will be vulnerable when collecting solar energy, but potential predators will also be more alert when they are inactive.
Unique behaviors like these become the base and then expand when we define the roles of machines in the world. We always want to make sure that the machines are connected and that they serve for a greater purpose; So that all the (echo) machine system is in harmony, as in the real world.
One of the most interesting aspects of Horizon Zero Dawn was to use these creatures to help in certain battles. In this way, Forbidden West brings override s ability to return. On this occasion, This power has been expanded so that robots have a defensive or offensive behavior, all depending on the situation.
Horizon Forbidden West will reach PS4 and PS5 on February 18, 2022. On related topics, here you can know more exploration in this title. Similarly, Games Guerrilla has also shared more information about the history of the sequel.
Author s Note:
All this sounds very interesting. Forbidden West It seems that it will exceed the first title in all possible aspects. The idea of expanding Override s ability was something that was already expected, and it was obvious that new creatures will be introduced. However, the way Guerrilla Games talks about these elements demonstrates the confidence that the study has in his work.
