Ubisoft provides a Skull & Bones update, says the game has evolved from its original idea
Skull & Bones is an upcoming action-adventure video clip game created by Ubisoft Singapore as well as published by Ubisoft. The game is readied to release at some point after April 2022. The game rotates around piracy and also naval war.
On the way to the second presentation of Ubisoft Forward, many fans expected to see something out of the company's tactical pirate action game, Skull & Bones. However, it is not yet quite ready to show.
According to the artistic director of the game, Elisabeth Pellen, the game has evolved from his original idea and will need more so that the Ubisoft Singapore team and the global team can reach their new objectives for the title .
Initially revealed to E3 2017, Skull & Bones had to go out to the end of 2018 before being initially postponed to 2019 and later in March 2020. The CEO of Ubisoft, Yves Guillemot, confirmed afterwards that the game would be repulsed at least until April 2021, if not later, during an investor appeal in October 2019.
Meanwhile, Ubisoft Singapore has worked on modernization of the game for new generation consoles so players can fully live a personalized life of battles on the high seas.
We dreamed of something bigger for Skull & Bones, and these ambitions have naturally accompanied more important challenges, said Pellen told me. Critical issues needed to be addressed in recent months, such as: how to modernize the classic fantasy of pirates? How to guarantee a more immersive and visceral experience? How to create nice and memorable moments in the game? To answer most of these questions, it was clear that we needed more development time. »
It is not far from previous reports indicating that the game was being restarted internally while the game had trouble carving a unique place among other Ubisoft titles. In these reports, the game was going to be reworked in a live service model similar to that of Fortnite.
In relation: Skull & Bones have restarted as a strong service game
Pellen, who has been working at Ubisoft for more than 20 years, has joined the basic game of the game two years ago while the company brought a new look of its studios from around the world. The teams of Ubisoft Berlin, Chengdu, Kiev, Paris and the Philippines all contribute to Skull & Bones.
The team thanks fans for their patience waiting to know more about the game and promises that something will happen in 2021.
We are proud of the work we have accomplished and hope you will also be when you see more skull & bones on our return next year, said Pellen. By there, on behalf of all members of the Skull & Bones team around the world, stay safe and we will see you again soon!
